There’s a wonderful new sign on the Painter Trail overlooking Royal Bay which celebrates the fact that Emily Carr painted several famous works in this location.

The sign features Carr's 1937 painting “Above the Gravel Pit”.

The sign was created by the Arts & Culture Colwood Society as one of four Colwood Create Places projects with support from the City of Colwood, GableCraft Homes and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.

The official unveiling of the sign took place on Saturday, Jun 26 with representatives from Colwood Council, members of the Arts & Culture Colwood Society and partners from GableCraft Homes and the Art Gallery.
