Colwood's Mayor and Council recognize that many not-for-profit organizations provide valuable contributions that enrich the lives of people in our community.

The City of Colwood accepts applications from registered charities and non-profit organizations for permissive property tax exemptions. Applicants who own and occupy their property and meet the requirements stated in the Community Charter and Council Policy may qualify for a property tax exemption.

As per Council Policy, most permissive tax exemptions are granted for a four-year term coinciding with the Council election term.  Applications received and approved mid-term will be harmonized with the remaining term.  Most exemptions granted in 2022 will be in place for the 2023 taxation years. Read the full Colwood Tax Exemption Policy.

Please complete the 2023 Permissive Tax Exemption form and submit by 4:30 p.m. on June 30, 2022.
