May 22, 2020

As we all do our part in the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we must also start planning for recovery.

Colwood is actively working with provincial and federal partners to provide immediate relief, including business tax reductions and deferrals.

We are planning ahead so that the City can help set the stage for a vibrant recovery

To do this we need to work with Colwood's business leaders to understand their needs and hear their creative ideas about the supports that would help most. Therefore, we are asking key stakeholders in the local business community to take part in virtual roundtable discussions on Colwood’s COVID-19 business recovery strategy.

Join us on Friday May 29, 2020 from 1pm to 3pm for the third recovery roundtable discussion to give business owners and managers of Colwood businesses an opportunity to provide input to all three levels of government in one venue.

You'll be speaking directly with government leaders

Our Member of Parliament, Randall Garrison and Member of Legislative Assembly, Mitzi Dean will be in attendance along with representatives of the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness.

Discussion will focus on the following questions:

  • What are the impacts of COVID-19 on your business and how effective have recent government measures been in helping to address them?
  • What are the expected long-term impacts of COVID-19 on your business and do you expect the current slate of government supports to effectively mitigate them?
  • How can different levels of government help your business cope with the current challenges and prepare for recovery?
  • How can different levels of government help contribute to the community’s overall recovery?
