On Saturday, October 26 hundreds of costumed kids came to Meadow Park in Colwood's Royal Bay neighbourhood for some Halloween fun at Pumpkin Fest 2019. This is the second year the City has teamed up with the Royal Bay developer, Gablecraft Homes, to bring families together for a fun event.

Kids were given a treasure map to guide them through a number of games activities throughout the park. They decorated delicious cookies provided by Royal Bay Bakery, got their faces painted by Sparkle Shack Body Art, danced to the music and played games like Monster Bowling, Ghoulish Golf, Creepy Connect Four and Monster Muncher.

Kids even dared the fortune telling tent where they reached into the witches cauldron to pull out a numbered ball then opened a little drawer with the same number to find their fortune. Fortunes offered positive messages about honesty, imagination, speaking up and seeing the good in everyone.

Families grabbed a bite from L'Authentique Poutine & Burgers, visited with friends and neighbours and enjoyed watching all the costumed kids have a ball.

Next up: the Halloween Bonfire at the Colwood Fire Hall on Halloween night, October 31st. And plan to join us at Pumpkin Fest next year. Happy Halloween!
