Come and learn about volunteering with the Rainbows Program. Rainbows is a 12 week program designed to help children who are affected by divorce, separation or a death in their families. The program has been offered in the Victoria area in the past, but was discontinued due to a lack of space and volunteers. The new Centre for Well Being which is under construction on Goldstream Avenue in Colwood may provide new opportunities for this type of programming, but volunteers would be needed.

More about the Rainbows Program

Children grieving over the loss of a loved one - whether through death, divorce or separation - are often confused and angry. Young people may express their pain by acting out with inappropriate behaviour or withdrawing in unhealthy ways. Rainbows offers a pro-active solution to this dilemma. Ms. Isabel VanGrootheest is the Registered Director for Rainbows Vancouver Island (Nanaimo) and she will lead the information session. She receives many inquiries from residents in Victoria hoping to place their children in the Rainbows Program.
