We’re excited to have a new “Pollinator and Indigenous Plant Garden” coming to life on City Hall property thanks to the Colwood Garden Society.

It’s a project by the Colwood Garden Society with guidance from local elders.

This new “learning garden” will include some of the roots, berries, flowers and shrubs that have been mainstays of First Nations health and healing.

Interpretive signs with English and First Nations identifying names will be added so visitors can learn about the plants, language and culture in a welcoming and enjoyable setting.

A small opening ceremony will be held on Friday, July 2 at 1pm.
