Don't miss Colwood's free summer celebration at the beautiful Beachlands - a fabulous seaside neighbourhood just a stone's throw beyond the Lagoon Beach in Colwood. On Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 1pm to 7:30pm there will be music by five live bands, a food truck festival where you can sample flavours from around the world, beachside beverages served by Victoria Beer Society, and tons of fun right by the ocean all day.

The Eats & Beats event area at The Beachlands features a grassy lawn, a hillside seating area, a kids playground, sandy beach play areas, breathtaking ocean views, and easy access to the cool waters of the Salish Sea. Over time we'll see more and more events and activities at the picturesque Beachlands neighbourhood which now features new homes, parks, and a coffee shop. Over the coming months we'll begin to see additional parks and public spaces including an amphitheater, a public plaza and other engaging public spaces beginning to take shape.

Delivering the Beats

You'll be dancing by the ocean all day to an incredible line up of amazing musical styles by the most talented local bands: rock classics by Kooler, pop country by Whiskey Business, Latin vibes by TRIPPYCALS, funk and soul grooves by Blase Blase,  and iconic Canadian tunes with Nautical Disaster.

1:15pm Kooler - Kooler delivers the rock classics you know and love to sing and dance along to, taking you back to the best times every time.

2:30pm Whiskey Business - Bringing a little Nashville to the Beachlands! Whiskey Business will get you up line dancing on the beach to today’s pop rock country tunes you love.

3:45pm TRIPPYCALS - Trippycals blends Latin grooves, R&B smoothness, and funk flavor into one addictive vibe. Sofía brings the heat, Slow Mo drops fire bars, and Daniel lays down the soul. It’s not just music, it’s a trippycal state of mind.

5:00pm Blase Blase - A smooth blend of groovy jazz, funk, conscious hip-hop, and anything that vibes. Their sound ranges from high-energy to soulful. It’s all about living that blasé lifestyle and serving up pastel tunes.

6:15pm Nautical Disaster - An homage to the quintessentially Canadian Tragically Hip that nails Gord Downey's theatrical flair and vocal prowess for an unforgettable performance. Looking for a place to happen? Nautical Disaster brings it.

Serving up the eats

Sample tasty eats from our international food truck festival: so far we have Mediterranean flavours from Greek on the Street, Mama Rosies Filipino favourites, Bao Theory bringing a modern take on Taiwanese, Ali Baba pizza Italiano, Updog Korean corndogs, and the classic French Canadian L'Authentique Poutine & Burgers. Plus sweets from Cold Comfort Ice Cream, Frosana Treats, and Holy Cow Mini Donuts.

Free activities all day

While you're enjoying the beachisde beverages, tasty eats, and funky beats, tackle the obstacle course with friends, get into to a beach game, and get some festival face paint or a beautiful henna tattoo.

You can even put the paint brush in your own hands as you add colour to a beautiful community mural we'll create together at the event. And while the sun is high, snap a pic in a photo booth with the ocean as your background, or jump right in to cool off with a splash in the ocean!

Petiquette

With large crowds, amplified music, the aroma of delicious food everywhere, and lots of activity, pups may find it difficult to be calm and comfortable at this event. Any pets who do attend would need to be on leash at all times. Also important to note that pets are not permitted on the shuttle buses.
