The City of Colwood is partnering with local businesses and community volunteer group PICK Colwood to encourage people to bring a reusable mug to coffee shops in Colwood.
Show Us Your Mug is a fun community-wide challenge aimed at reducing the number of single-use cups hitting waste bins — or worse, showing up as litter in our streets, parks and beaches.
Grab a stamp card from participating coffee shops or tag @CityofColwood in a photo to Show Us Your Mug and win a cool Colwood mug and a chance at some great prize packages. Get all the details at www.colwood.ca/ShowUsYourMug.
Every time you bring a reusable mug for your coffee purchase at a participating Colwood business, you earn entries to WIN! The contest runs until Earth Day on April 22, 2026.
Tackling litter and waste reduction
Colwood's Show Us Your Mug challenge was initiated by the incredible community volunteers of PICK Colwood who have been doing amazing work to tackle litter and waste reduction in our community.
In their first six months of working together, PICK Colwood contributed a whopping 226 volunteer hours, collecting 584 pounds of litter which amounted to nearly 4,000 pieces including 2,500 cigarette butts.

1.5 billion cups tossed in Canada each year
Did you know? Canadians throw out an estimated 1.5 billion single-use coffee cups every year. Add the plastic lids and cardboard sleeves and that is a mountain of waste that is easily prevented with reusable mugs.
