Join us to learn more about the Colwood Waterfront Multi-Use Pathway project

    Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026
    Time: 10am to 2pm
Place: Lagoon Beach near the washroom building

Colwood's multi-use pathway along the waterfront from the Lagoon Bridge to The Beachlands is on track for completion by the 2028 grant deadline with funding support of $6M from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

Come have a hot coffee and learn about all aspects of the multi-use pathway:

    • the route the pathway will take from the Lagoon Bridge to the Beachlands
    • where the path will cross Ocean Boulevard
    • the accessible trail surface designed for pedestrians and cyclists as well as strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters
    • landscape design and plantings to protect sensitive areas and guide people thoughtfully along the waterfront
    • interpretive signs, seating, gathering areas, waste receptacles and other amenities

This project is complex due to the sensitive archaeological and ecological features. The design takes into account factors like erosion and sea level rise, and the varying landscapes along the route: the Lagoon shore, the ocean foreshore, areas where the forest meets the beach at Perimeter Park, and connections to the trails, plaza, and sidewalks planned in the new Beachlands neighbourhood.

City staff and project partners continue to work through archeaological permitting, stakeholder engagement, and design. We look forward to sharing information about the project!
