Colwood's 2nd Annual Pumpkin Smash
The Colwood Pumpkin Smash is returning for it's second year!
Our community once had a lovely tradition of displaying Halloween pumpkins along local roads after the holiday. Unfortunately, the delicious scent of pumpkins is too tempting to local wildlife. It's important not to attract wildlife into neighbourhoods, for their safety and ours.
Colwood is offering residents a new fun way to to dispose of Halloween pumpkins with wildlife and safety in mind. Bring your pumpkins to the PUMPKIN SMASH!
Fun for the Whole Family
- Family photos with your Halloween jack-o-lanterns before smashing it
- Grab a bite or a hot beverage from The Hot Dog Guys food truck
- Free Face Painting by Lila's Events
How will you smash it?
First, get a family photo with your Halloween jack-o-lantern before you say goodbye. Then... it's time to smash it!
- Bowl it into the Blower: roll your pumpkin down the hill at city hall and see if you can get it into the snowblower to be blown to smithereens!
- Blast it with the Firehose: man the fire hose and blast your pumpkin into the bin
While you're here, grab a bite from the food truck on site, take some fun photos, and learn a bit about living with wildlife in Colwood.
And please consider bringing a donation for the Goldstream Food Bank if you are able to help us stuff the bus for neighbours in need!
