    Celebrate Canada in the most iconic Canadian location by the sea!

    Join us for a festive day featuring live music, historic weapons demonstrations, the best summer heritage and nature programs, interactive community booths, and grilled and chilled treats. Mark the day with your annual family picture by Canada’s giant flag at Fisgard Lighthouse.

    🚌 Shuttle bus is available (Between the Colwood Park and Ride and Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse NHS)

    Experience Canada Day at the fort:
    09:45 am – First shuttle leaves Colwood Park and Ride.
    4:45 pm – Last shuttle leaves Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse NHS. 
    10:15 am –  Welcome to the land by Songhees representative (main field).
    10:30 am to 11 am – Performance by the Lekwungen Dancers (main field).
    10 am to 4 pm – Activities and booths from community partners (throughout the Historic Sites).
    11:45 am to 4 pm – Ice Cream, treats and soda for sale (canteen).
    10:30 am to 4 pm – BBQ food for sale (next to the Warrant Officers Quarters).
    11 am to 11:40 am | 2:15 pm to 3 pm – Performance by the band of the 5th Regiment of RCA (main field).
    11:45 am – Citizenship affirmation (main field).
    12 pm – A 21-Gun salute by the 5th Regiment of RCA 9 (main field).
    1:30 pm – Demonstration of 13pdr Rifled Muzzle Loading Field Gun (main field).

    Getting to the event

    • There is parking at Fort Rodd Hill, but it may fill up fast for this popular Canada Day event.
    • Cycle on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail then cruise down Ocean Boulevard to Fort Rodd Hill.
    • Take the bus to the Colwood Exchange and jump on a free shuttle from the Colwood Park & Ride to Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse.
