The City of Colwood will consider adopting a bylaw exempting certain assessments from taxation for a one-year period, fiscal 2027, under the authority of Section 224(2)(a) of the Community Charter.
The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to exempt the organization listed below from property taxes imposed under Section 197(1) of the Community Charter. The tax amount below does not include taxation for other governments (School, Regional Districts, BC Transit, MFA and the BC Assessment). The proposed amendment to Permissive Tax Exemption (2024-2027), Bylaw No. 2004 is scheduled for first three readings at a Council Meeting on Monday, September 28 at 6:30pm.
