Colwood seeks partner on Colwood Clinic expansion

In January 2025 the City of Colwood opened the municipally run Colwood Clinic to support the health of Colwood residents by connecting them with a family physician.

The Clinic team is expanding from two to four physicians this month and is quickly outgrowing its current leased clinic space.  It’s expected the number of patients the clinic serves will double over the next 12 to 18 months.

To plan for that growth, the City has issued a Request for Proposals for a new clinic facility within Colwood. The RFP invites a range of proposals, including options for property, facility type, scale, and delivery model, with a focus on long-term sustainable operation.

The goal is to provide a modern primary care facility that can accommodate up to eight family physicians, along with appropriate support staff, to help meet the primary health care needs of Colwood residents.

The RFP does not prescribe a specific building size or location. Instead, it seeks proposals from development partners that can plan, design, permit, deliver, and support the transition to operation of a new primary care medical clinic. Proposals may include a new build, a buildout within existing space, or a lease of suitable existing premises.

Interested parties are encouraged to review the full Request for Proposals at www.colwood.ca/RFP. The opportunity is also posted on BC Bid.
