Colwood offers residents and visitors a fun, affordable, and sustainable way to move around the City (and beyond!) with Evolve e-bikes and e-scooters.
Powered by BCAA and operated by a BC-based team, Evolve is one way Colwood is working to offer realistic transportation choices that help to reduce traffic congestion, support a healthy and active lifestyle, attract visitors to nearby businesses, and reduce emissions
Safety first
Colwood and Evolve are committed to rider and community safety. Here’s what you need to know:
- Riders must be 18+
- Helmets are mandatory – each device includes a helmet (cleaned and inspected regularly), or bring your own
- No passengers allowed (one person per e-scooter/ e-bike)
- Speed limits: Max 25 km/h, with designated slow zones and no-ride zones
- No riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Regular inspections and maintenance keep devices in safe working condition
- Safety outreach and training available at community events
- If a device is damaged or left outside a zone, report it to 1.844.386.2386
- The Evolve team is in the community regularly to ensure devices are charged, cleaned, and appropriately relocated/distributed throughout the City.
Get started!
- Sign Up and download the app (there’s also a QR code on every bike and scooter to download the app in place)
- Once you’re signed up, you can locate, unlock, pay for, and ride Evolve e-bikes and e-scooters using your smartphone.
- Pricing: You only pay for what you use -$0.35/minute or $12.99/hour – whichever is cheaper, $1.25 unlock fee per trip. BCAA Members save 10% and monthly membership is available for $9.99, which drops your per-minute rate to $0.10.
- Park Responsibly: All rides must start and end in designated Evolve Parking Zones. These locations have been selected based on accessibility, GPS signal strength, and community convenience.
