    Celebrate Canada in the most iconic Canadian location!

    Join us for a festive day featuring live music, historic weapons demonstrations and a 21-gun salute, the best summer heritage and nature programs, interactive community booths, and grilled and chilled treats. 

    Mark the day with your annual family picture by Canada’s giant flag at Fisgard Lighthouse.

    Activities

    • Interpretive Programs: dive into Canada’s rich heritage and nature.
    • Community Partners’ Booths: see their latest initiatives and participate in creative activities.
    • Stunning photo backdrops: capture memories of this special day, including with the giant Canada flag at Fisgard Lighthouse.
    • Meet with members of the 5th (B.C.) Field Artillery Regiment of RCA at the information and recruitment booth.
    • Summer Treats: indulge in specially crafted ice cream and refreshing cold sodas.
    • Summer Grill: Feast on delicious finger licking food prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary.
      11:00 am – 3:00 pm (approximative time)
    • Enjoy patriotic melodies by The Band of 5th (B.C.) Field Regiment of RCA.
      12:00 – noon
    • Live music with the Soul Shakers by the Belmont Battery in the afternoon
    • 21-gun salute by the 5th (B.C.) Field Artillery Regiment of RCA
    • Impressive Howitzer on display until 1 p.m. following the 21-gun salute
      1:30 pm – 2:15 pm
    • Historic weapons demonstration of small arms (“Soldier’s Best Friend”) by Parks Canada interpreters 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm
    • Historic weapons demonstration of Victorian era Field Gun (“Firepower”) by Parks Canada interpreters

    Getting to the event

    • There is parking at Fort Rodd Hill, but it may fill up fast for this popular Canada Day event.
    • Cycle on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail then cruise down Ocean Boulevard to Fort Rodd Hill.
    • Take the bus to the Colwood Exchange and jump on a free shuttle from the Colwood Park & Ride to Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse. Shuttles will run from 11:30 am to 3:15 pm.
