PLEASE NOTE: Sadly, with the current rainfall warning and out of an abundance of caution,
WE WILL NOT BE HOSTING THE COLWOOD CHRISTMAS LIGHT UP AT CITY HALL THIS EVENING.
Safety is our highest priority as a community - especially the safety of our elementary school students who would be climbing wet stairs to the stage for their performances! But also for families driving, parking and walking over to the event in precarious weather on slippery surfaces.
Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory which notes: "An atmospheric river over the South Coast of BC is bringing heavy rain today. The highest rainfall amounts are forecast from Sooke to downtown Victoria. The heavy rain will taper off late this evening. Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times."
We are so very grateful to the many generous community partners who give their time, talent, energy and sponsorship to help us bring the community together to celebrate the season every year.

The Colwood Christmas Light Up is one of those special community events that captures the true spirit of the Christmas season and leaves people smiling.
Friends and neighbours visit and reconnect over hot chocolate and treats while children from local schools spread cheer with their musical performances.
