Head to The Beachlands at the corner of Metchosin and Latoria roads in Colwood on the ancestral land of the Lekwungen speaking people this Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 1pm until 7pm for the Beachlands Eats & Beats Beach Party! It's live music all day with an international food truck festival, beachside beverage service with Victoria Beer Society and all kinds of fun by the ocean! We're celebrating summer with FREE fun on the street, sand, and sea.

Live music, street food, and beachside beverages

Picture yourself with your favourite people on the sunny beach by the ocean, cold beverage in hand, grooving to the summertime tunes of some of the best local bands. Sample international flavours from all your favourite food trucks, enjoy an ice cold beer or cider from the Victoria Beer Society beachside beer service, get into some cornhole and other beach games with West Shore Parks & Recreation, and just chill to the tunes.

Playing the Beats

We'll kick things off with Kooler. Everyone's favourite local rockers with all the classic tunes you Groove to some of the best bands on the South Island, including local rock cover legends Kooler, disco sensation Tight Hair Disco, the funky ska and reggae vibes of SweetLeaf, Canada's best Hip tribute, Nautical Disaster, and renowned CCR tribute, Completely Creedence. 

• 1:00pm lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers offering welcome to their traditional territory.

• 1:15pm Kooler - Kooler delivers the rock classics taking you back to the best times every time.

• 2:30pm Tight Hair Disco - With electrifying beats and infectious energy get ready for the beach to be transformed into a disco inferno. 

• 3:45pm SweetLeaf - SweetLeaf's fun, punchy reggae ska sound pulls in influences from funk, soul, and punk vibes. These boys know how to command a stage and will keep you up and dancing.

• 5:00pm Nautical Disaster - An homage to the Tragically Hip that nails Gord Downey's theatrical flair and vocal prowess for an unforgettable performance that leaves you breathless.

• 6:15pm Completely Creedence - Completely Creedence Band is a group of talented musicians who share a passion for the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival.  With a deep appreciation for the music and a commitment to delivering an authentic performance, these guys capture the essence of CCR’s sound and spirit.

Tons of fun

Get into the festival vibe with Lila's facepainting and a henna or sparkly tattoo by Karelia Sunflower Designs. Visit the Goldfinch Gift Shop pop-up for a one of a kind gift or treasure made by local artists. Watch the kids delight as they chase the huge colourful bubbles made by That Bubble Guy. Get into a game of cornhole with the Stingers Cornhole League. Play some beach games with West Shore Parks & Recreation. We've even got Laser Tag! Let's have some fun!

Getting to Eats & Beats

With two Eats & Beats shuttle buses, bike valet parking, and free parking just up from the event, there are lots of ways to get to Eats & Beats.

• Hop on a free Eats & Beats Shuttle: Three FREE Eats & Beats Shuttles will run all day to the event at Royal Beach. There will be one shuttle stop at Royal Bay Secondary School and one near the new Quality Foods Royal Bay. You'll also be able to jump on a Beach Bus running between Royal Beach Park and Metchosin Road any time, all day. Follow the Eats & Beats signage! 
• B.C. Transit makes it easy to get to the event: Take routes #50, #52, #53, or #61 to Royal Bay, then hop on the complimentary shuttle to the event. For more information visit http://bctransit.com/victoria/schedules-and-maps
• Ride your bike. It pays to cycle! Use the free Capital Bike Valet and get $5 Eats & Beats Bucks to use at the food trucks! The Locker from Capital Bike is a safe and secure, staffed bike parking service. The Galloping Goose Regional Trail runs right through Colwood. Jump off the trail at Hatley Gardens cemetery and make your way up Adye Road then zip along Metchosin Road for an easy downhill cruise to Royal Beach.
• Walk to Eats & Beats! Park at the Lagoon Beach for a leisurely walk along the beach to the Royal Beach site. It’s just about 1km between the Lagoon washrooms and Royal Beach. Or if you live in the area, enjoy one of the many trails into Royal Bay and down to the beach. 
• Got your own kayak? Park at the Lagoon Beach and paddle over to Eats & Beats!

Pets

Guide dogs and companion pets are permitted, however with large crowds, amplified music, the aroma of delicious food everywhere, and lots of activity, pups may find it difficult to be calm and comfortable at this event. Any pets who do attend would need to be on leash at all times. **Also important to note that the shuttle bus operators are not able to allow pets on the shuttle buses.

Accessibility

There will be designated accessible parking spots near the event entrance that our parking team will direct people displaying handicap parking permits to. There will also be an accessible viewing area for wheelchairs.

This undeveloped beach site is challenging as it is on two levels, separated by stairs and a long, steep gravel road that is not accessible for wheelchair users. Event staff are able to provide golf cart service for people with mobility issues, but carts cannot accommodate a wheelchair. 

The upper area will feature the food truck festival in the gravel parking area, a beverage station, a water filling station, activities like henna tattoos and games, with shade seating on the lawn. The music from the stage on the lower level is amplified to this upper area, and the small viewing area provides space for wheelchairs to view the lower stage area.

The lower beach level is where the stage and main beverage station are located, along with some beach games and access to the beach itself. It is not possible for a wheelchair to access this lower area during the event.
