Wounded Warriors honours and supports Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.

The Wounded Warrior Run BC was created to bring awareness and raise funds for Wounded Warriors Canada. A team of eight dedicated runners will run relay-style the length of Vancouver Island in just eight consecutive days, covering more than 600kms. Last year the run raised over $165,000 for programs and training to support the mental health of first responders, military and their families. The run will begin in Port Hardy on Sunday February 26th, 2023 and end in Victoria on Sunday, March 5th, 2023

It's an organization that is near to the hearts of Colwood Firefighters, who, as first responders, are called upon every day to assist in stressful, distressing, and sometimes traumatizing emergency and medical incidents.

The Colwood Fire Department will provide an escort for the runners with a fire engine joining the convoy approximately 12:30pm at the West Shore RCMP detachment, traveling through Colwood to the View Royal Fire Station, with an estimated arrival time of 1:45pm.
