Treat your sweetie, your friend, your mother or just yourself to a Valentine’s tea and the mellow sounds of the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday, February 12th at 2:30 PM.

This previously annual event, the first since 2020, is in the tradition of a British high tea and offers a choice of delicious sweet and savory finger foods, and of course tea and coffee, beautifully prepared and presented by the Sooke Lioness. In the spirit of the afternoon, conductor Yariv Aloni has chosen a program of lively works by British composers Purcell, Elgar, Percy Grainger and Haydn Wood as well as excerpts from the English Suite by Sir CHH Parry, who is famous for the choral songs Jerusalem and I Was Glad.

“Tea and Symphony is one of my favourite Sooke Phil events. It’s a delightful afternoon of English tearoom-style treats attractively served and enhanced by light classical music played by orchestra members. I look forward to it every year,” says Sue Hyslop, Sooke resident and long-time SPO supporter.

Tickets are $40 and are available on our website, www.sookephil.ca or  local outlets, Little Vienna Bakery & Pharmasave in Sooke.  Don’t delay, this is always a sold out event.
