The City of Colwood has added a COVID-19 vaccination requirement to its workplace communicable disease prevention policy to help prevent transmission of the disease.

The City's communicable disease prevention policy is intended to protect the health and safety of the City's employees and, by extension, the people they interact with on a daily basis.

Employees, volunteers and dependent contractors will be required to provide proof of vaccination by January 1, 2022.

This is not a step the City takes lightly, however COVID-19 is a recognized workplace hazard and vaccinations are considered a strong measure of control to address and mitigate the risk of transmission in the workplace.
