The new Royal BC Museum Collections and Research Building coming to Colwood's Royal Bay neighbourhood was featured in a recent "This Week in History" story on CHEK News. Maybe you'll see yourself or a neighbour attending the recent "Meet the Museum" events!

"This is going to be a game changer for Colwood in terms of high quality building design, exciting learning opportunities, and new employment and investment in Colwood," said Mayor Rob Martin.

There is an international competition underway to design an exceptional building overlooking the Colwood shoreline in Royal Bay.

"It's not going to be a boring box, I feel very confident in that." said Kim Gough from the RBCM. Will we be able to visit? "Absolutely, yes." says Kim. "We're anticipating classroom spaces, we're anticipating community rooms and spaces where people can gather."
