Have a great idea to enhance places in Colwood? 

We want you to get involved in creating special places and healthy community activities in Colwood. The City is offering up to $5,000 to be split between great project ideas from our residents.

Now, more than ever, we want to connect our community in a safe way and we want your help! The concept of placemaking is helping to reimagine spaces around the world, transforming public spaces in unexpected ways through art, gardens, gathering areas, or other programming. During the holiday season, start thinking of ideas to enhance public spaces in your neighbourhood, discuss with your family, start a zoom call with your neighbours and gather your ideas. We will begin accepting applications in early January so now is your time to get creative. Let's create places Colwood!   

Project ideas could include:

• commuity garden enhancement
• decorative lighting display
• community art or mural
• playground enhancement
• community lending installation
• and lots more! 

All grants require a matching contribution from the community which may consist of volunteer labour, donated services, donated materials and supplies, and other funds raised. Projects that qualify for this funding will fall under one of two categories Placemaking and Community Recovery & Resiliency.
