  • Parks & Recreation Master Plan (from July 6 Committee of the Whole): Council received a presentation from Lanarc Consultants View the presentation
     
  • Council received correspondence regarding trails and signage with suggestions for a Sky to Sea Trail System from a group called Citizens’ Environment Network in Colwood (CENIC). Read the letter
     
  • Temporary patios for businesses: Council approved expansion of outdoor service areas to support local businesses and provide safe spaces for residents to enjoy. Read the report
     
  • Meadow Park Green Improvements: Council approved using the City’s Community Amenities Reserve Fund to further enhance the park with a dual stall washroom, electrical service for lighting and events and electrical vehicle charging. View the presentation
     
  • Economic Recovery Plan: Council endorsed the report that outlines more than 30 actions the City will take to support businesses and encourage a thriving and resilient community. Read the draft Economic Recovery Plan
     
  • Charting the future of the Sooke Road Corridor: As BC Transit moves forward with improvements between Metchosin and Jerome Roads, the City has an opportunity to specify design criteria. At the July 6 Transportation Committee, Transportation Consultants presented considerations for the design of Sooke Road. Council reaffirmed the City’s transportation priorities as outlined in the OCP: 1. Walking; 2. Transit; 3. Cycling; 4. Goods movement; 5. High Occupancy Vehicles and 6. Single Occupancy Vehicles.   • Traffic Data Collection and Monitoring: Council approved the installation of anonymous Bluetooth traffic detection devices in eight locations around the City to provide real-time data about vehicle travel routes, times and speeds. View the presentation | Read the news post
