The City of Colwood has issued an RFP to complete upgrades to the dam at Lookout Lake which was built in 1958 by a private forestry company.
In 2017, a dam stability assessment determined that remedial measures are required to ensure the dam meets current safety standards.
The City was successful in obtaining grant funding in the amount of $730,370 from the UBCM Community Emergency Preparedness Fund for the project.
Because Lookout Lake is a popular spot for a refreshing swim on a hot summer day, work is scheduled to begin in September, after swimming season!
