As parks, shops, workplaces and schools begin to open up, it will be important to hold onto the healthy habits we've developed through this pandemic. Wash your hands frequently. Stay home if you feel sick. And maintain physical distance.

The City of Colwood has introduced some signage in its seaside areas to reinforce distancing in a playful and educational way. The signs feature some of the birds, animals and plants you might see if you visit the Lagoon Beach in Colwood.

You may even have seen the signs featured on Global News on May 17th. Check it out at about the 20 minute mark in this video.

Stay at least 1 eagle apart

Stay at least 5 seagulls apart

Stay at least one seal apart

Stay at least one small kelp apart

Stay at least 4 minks apart

If you would like a pdf file of the signs to display them as a public health reminder or to use them for educational purposes, please email srussell@colwood.ca.
