Ongoing development in Colwood is keeping workers on the job and may help position the City for an economic rebound as we move through this COVID-19 outbreak. Strict adherence to Provincial Health Orders related to physical distance and gatherings is required in all activity.

Several significant Colwood sites are currently in progress. Below is a brief overview of four sites: Royal Bay, Olympic View, Allandale District and Colwood Corners.

New school site in Royal Bay

In the Royal Bay development, GableCraft Homes has begun preparing the new elementary school site for development. The new school will be situated near Royal Bay Secondary School, on the opposite side of Latoria Boulevard. Because the site is in the 'Quarry' portion of the old gravel pit, preparation includes some rock crushing and removal to remediate the old mining operation. GableCraft is also working toward the development of the Commons commercial centre at the corner of Metchosin Road and Latoria Boulevard. A rezoning application is in progress. Learn more about Royal Bay

Olympic View Golf Course

Olympic View development plans include significant efforts to fit new buildings into the natural landscape, however some blasting will be required. For example, on Latoria Road where Veterans Memorial Parkway will be extended onto Olympic View property, some rock will need to be removed to allow for new road construction. Allandale District

Omicron is continuing their work to prepare four large parcels of land on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Sooke Road for mixed employment uses. Learn more about the Allandale District

Colwood Corners

Onni Group is continuing construction of the first four buildings at Colwood Corners on Sooke Road near Goldstream Avenue. The development includes six new buildings in this first phase, providing more than 400 apartments and over 15,000 square metres of commercial space for new shops, services, and eateries. Learn more about Colwood Corners
