Olympic View development plans

Olympic View is undertaking this work in preparation for the construction of new roads as the next step in creating 34 lots for single family homes and three sites intended for multi-family townhomes. Their plans include extending Veterans Memorial Parkway through Latoria Road. Designs for an upgraded intersection at Veterans Memorial Parkway and Latoria Road are being finalized now, along with a broader transportation plan for the area.

The City is coordinating transportation planning between the Olympic View, Royal Bay and Royal Beach developers as well as BC Transit and other partners to support an updated Colwood Transportation Master Plan.

The development permit includes a comprehensive tree management plan that retains hundreds of trees, as well as protection of riparian and environmentally sensitive areas. The plan enables a "site adaptive design" approach which considers the features of the natural land and existing drainage patterns to create residential properties where trees, topography and homes fit into the natural landscape.
