The City of Colwood has installed new signs along Esquimalt Lagoon that state "No Parking between one hour after dusk to dawn." 

The signage makes people aware that RCMP and Colwood Bylaw Officers may ask people using the park during these hours to move their vehicles, although the municipality has discretion to decide whether to enforce a bylaw.

The new regulation was approved by Council as part of a recent update to the Colwood Parks Management Bylaw. 

"The intention is not to prevent someone from coming to the lagoon beach for some quiet reflection or to practice their night time photography skills," said Colwood Mayor Rob Martin. "It allows officers to take action if there is inappropriate activity taking place."
