The 2018 DRAFT Annual Report outlines significant strides toward the City's vision of Colwood as a spectacular seaside community that is set apart by its outstanding natural setting and exceptional quality of life. 

Over the past year, Colwood has taken steps toward ensuring stable and predictable tax rates well into the future by promoting a greater understanding of the value of natural and built assets through the Sustainable Infrastructure Replacement Plan. 

The report provides progress updates on a broad range of City services and projects to achieve Council's goals of engaging citizens, preserving valued assets, expanding our economy and providing a high quality of life for the residents of Colwood. 

It offers detailed statistical information that paints a contextual picture of Colwood. This data is extremely valuable for Council and staff, as well as current and prospective residents and businesses to support City planning and economic development efforts.

The report is an overview of Colwood, with rich images and pull-out text to draw readers into the detail. It is an invitation to the public to learn more about all that is going on in the community and to connect with Colwood.

What makes Colwood's Annual Reports award winners?

The Canadian Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting is awarded by the Government Financial Officers Association of Canada and the US. The award recognizes local governments who go above and beyond in preparing annual and financial reports that demonstrate transparency and are designed to clearly communicate the municipality's financial story.

Adjudicators found the report met the highest standards outlined in a 25-page checklist detailing each aspect of an outstanding report.

Attaining this award represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, and Colwood staff are grateful for the recognition.
