Imagine yourself on the beach in the sunshine with a cold beer in your hand, listening to the Eagles and other great bands playing live on stage.

That's what you'll be doing at the Eats & Beats Beach Party on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Lagoon Beach in Colwood. It's the biggest beach party of the summer!

For one day each summer, Ocean Boulevard along the lagoon in Colwood is closed to make space for a huge beach party. Eats & Beats features six outstanding live bands, a street food festival, a craft beverage garden hosted by the Victoria Beer Society, a beach street market, and FREE fun stuff happening on sand, sea and sky. Don't miss it!

Outstanding live music will have you dancing in the sand

  • Eagle Eyes – Bringing the Eagles legendary harmonies and captivating live performances to life at the beach!
  • The Boom Booms –  Energetic alt-soul grooves that blend Latin, folk, reggae and rock and spans continents and generations.
  • The New Souls – A unique and powerful sound that combines soul, R&B, and funk music with well-crafted melodies, soaring lyricism, and a dynamic rhythm section.
  • Cities – Pop, rock, soul and just a whole lot of fun, Cities plays songs you know, love and can’t help grooving with.
  • SweetLeaf - SweetLeaf will get you on your feet with elements of hip hop, funk, ska, punk, jazz, soul and bluegrass for a truly original sound. 
  • And presenting the young, up-and-coming band out of Colwood's Royal Bay Secondary School: Tuesday's Roadkill.

You'll be dancing to live music on the beach all day long, sampling tasty flavours from a wide variety of street food vendors and strolling along the street market to discover unique Vancouver Island treasures and treats.

  • Road Treasure Treats (ice cream treats)
  • Elements Ice Cream (made in real time with nitrogen)
  • Donut Delights (sugared mini donuts)

New this year! Victoria Beer Society is joining the fun at Eats & Beats. Enjoy a broad selection of BC craft beer at Victoria Beer Society's Pop Up Beer Garden! With taps curated by Cascadia Liquor, everything pouring from the Beer Truck is also available at Cascadia Liquor Store locations.

All kinds of fun in the sun

Stroll along the beach street market and find unique Vancouver Island treasures and treats. Flex your muscles on the climbing wall, take an e-bike for a spin with Oak Bay Bicycles, or try a kayak, stand up paddle board or Hobie Eclipse pedal board from West Coast Outdoor Adventure. Get in the festival mood with temporary body art from Sparkle Shack Body Art or get a cool caricature sketch of yourself. Check out Colwood's unique driftwood art gallery along the beach, play beach games, splash in the ocean and celebrate summer!
