Have you had a look at the DRAFT Colwood Official Community Plan yet? It was created based on extensive community input over the past year and will be most successful if residents continue to be involved in reviewing the draft. We want to hear what you think!
The draft Land Use Map below is a good place to start. It shows areas of proposed growth over the next 20 years or so.

Colwood Corners (shown in red on the map) and the Seaside Village at Royal Bay (in dark orange) are areas of intended growth. These areas will be where most of Colwood’s growth would be focused over the coming years. The plan also proposes some gentle growth along Sooke Road, which is intended to become a transit corridor, connecting to a rapid transit network into downtown Victoria.
Feedback showed that residents want to be able to walk to get more of their daily needs, such as basic groceries and a coffee, and to connect with people. Therefore the Land Use Map shows Neighbourhood Centres (shown as orange circles on the map).
To ensure Colwood maintains its family friendly neighbourhoods, which was also reinforced by community feedback, Residential areas (shown in yellow on the map) and Hillside and Shoreline areas (shown in tan on the map) will be maintained largely as they are. However, homeowners will have the option of adding a suite, carriage house, or coach house as a mortgage helper and to create more housing choices.
