I Voted Sticker

Voting results show Rob Martin as Mayor-elect for Colwood, earning 2,348 votes out of the total 4,089 votes cast in Colwood. Going into the election there were 12,931 voters on the voter registration list.

Here are the six Council candidates who earned the most votes:

Doug Kobyashi - 2,703 votes
Dean Jantzen - 2,646 votes
Cynthia Day - 1,928 votes
Michael Baxter - 1,875 votes
Gordie Logan - 1,775 votes
Stewart Parkinson - 1,767 votes

Based on these numbers, returning Councillors are Gordie Logan and Cynthia Day. The four new members of Council are Dean Jantzen, Doug Kobyashi, Michael Baxter and Stewart Parkinson.

Inaugural Meeting of Council

The new Council will be sworn in during the Inaugural Meeting of Council on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. The meeting will include Mayor and Councillors’ Oath of Office, the Mayor’s Inaugural Address and recognition of members of the previous Council. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Colwood Council meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Monday of every month at Colwood City Hall and citizens are encouraged to attend anytime.
