Sometimes we look at where we live and can't believe the vast beauty surrounding us. Moving from Toronto, Ontario in January of 2017 to Victoria, British Columbia, we took a risk, Mike left his successful custom kitchen and furniture business in Toronto and Liz left her career because it was clear that there was bigger calling for our life and family here in Victoria. We are constantly reflecting, on where we have been, where we are now, and where we are going professionally and personally. We came to realize how dynamic we can be when working together. In 2013 we partnered as husband and wife in our first project together was a house renovation and flip in Toronto. More recently, we have partnered in two business ventures in Victoria including Aloha Victoria, a luxury ocean view accommodation, and Michael Ford Design – custom built in millwork. After opening Michael Ford Design and having our second child in 2018, we decided to create a second business King Bee Design & Build Studio, focusing exclusively on custom wood products for personal and commercial use.
