Occupational Therapy, OT, is a health care profession that was developed to help people with injuries and illness recover their ability to engage in the activities and occupations that are necessary and important to them. This can mean addressing challenges in self-care, leisure, and vocational activities. OTs consider all the facets of a person's being including their mental, physical, and cognitive abilities as well as their spiritual beliefs and cultural practices. Importantly, the environment in which the person is performing the activities is also considered. Each person is unique as are their strengths and challenges and recovery goals. I utilize a range of interventions and treatment options to enable individuals to optimize their function and meet their goals. OTs are a regulated profession and I am registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC. Additionally, I am a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and hold a BlueCross number. OT treatment funding may be available through the following: - Veterans Affairs, RCMP, CAF - Extended Health Benefits, please check your coverage - Long term disability insurance providers
