As a coastal community, a changing climate could significantly impact our City. Colwood Council and City staff are committed to helping our community reduce energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to minimize the impacts of a changing climate, while also adapting to make Colwood as resilient as possible to our changing environment.
Colwood is offering money back on energy-saving home upgrades!
Thinking of upgrading your home heating, electrical or hot water systems? Ready for an Energuide Home Evaluation? The City of Colwood has partnered with CleanBC to provide incentives for Colwood residents to save money on upgrades that will reduce energy costs and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2020 Colwood Council allocated $10,000 from the City's Climate Action Reserve fund to support municipal top-up incentives on a first come first serve basis. The success of the program has led to the allocation of $34,500 in funds during 2021 to 2022. Most recently, on July 20, 2022, Council approved an additional $10,000 for additional rebates provided by the City.
On top of CleanBC incentives, take advantage of these ADDITIONAL REBATES provided by the City:
- Fuel Switch Heat Pump - $350
- Electric Service Upgrade - $500
- Heat Pump Water Heater - $350
- Contractor Participation Incentive - $50
