Mission Statement

Through the personal and professional knowledge of our membership in the area of people with disabilities, we will advocate to make the Western Communities a safe and inclusive place for people of all ages and abilities to work, live and play.

Measuring Up Update

• We are excited to announce that C.R.D. Parks has committed to having an accessible trail at Witty’s Lagoon by 2010 and another accessible trail at Mount Work Park is also in the works.
• I.A.C.D.I. welcomes new partnerships so that we can continue to make more accessibility improvements.

IACDI News

• A representative from Community Living B.C. will be speaking at the next I.A.C.D.I. meeting on Thursday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the City of Colwood, 3300Wishart Road. The public is welcome to attend.
•  I.A.C.D.I. will be co sponsoring the 2010 WestShore Chamber of Commerce’s Accessible Business Award. We are looking for another sponsor for this award. If you are interested please contact meteach@telus.net
• If you are interested in attending a free workshop on the Registered Disability Savings Plan with a panel of experts please sign up by contacting meteach@telus.net A date and location will be booked soon.
• I.A.C.D.I. is compiling a list of discounts and “helping hand” information for people with disabilities. If you have any to share please email these to meteach@telus.netand we thank you for your help in advance. Once this is complete, it will be posted on our website for anyone to print and use as a resource.
