The City of Colwood is pleased to announce two new appointments in leadership roles: Nikii Hoglund as Director of Engineering and Public Works, and Brent Molnar as Manager of Development Services (formerly titled Deputy Director of Engineering).

Colwood is experiencing significant growth and change. As part of an integrated team, these two key leaders will be instrumental in advancing the City’s plans to enhance community infrastructure, manage growth, develop innovative solutions to challenges, and provide exceptional customer service.

Nikii Hoglund will join the City as Director of Engineering and Public Works on March 20, 2017. Nikii is currently director of engineering and operations for the District of Sechelt; and has previously worked in the municipal sector for the Village of Lions Bay, the City of North Vancouver, and the City of Richmond. She also brings international experience in the private sector, having worked in Australia, New Zealand, and Peru.

Under Nikii’s leadership, the Engineering team will focus on maintaining and upgrading community infrastructure such as sidewalks, parks, roads and sewers, as well as implementing and overseeing long term infrastructure plans and a rigorous asset management program.

Brent Molnar will step into the role of Manager of Development Services and Approving Officer on March 27, 2017. Brent has been the Manager of Land Development and Municipal Approving Officer for the City of Langford since 2007, taking on roles of increasing responsibility since joining Langford’s engineering team in 2001. Prior to 2001, Brent began his career working with engineering consultants in the private sector.

As Manager of Development Services and Approving Officer, Brent will lead a team that dedicates its time and expertise to the increasing demands of development in Colwood. While primarily focused on the engineering aspects of development, the team will play a critical role in applying a consistent and predictable approach to updated development policies. Those policies are being updated now with significant input from the community through the Colwood Making Waves - Official Community Plan update.

“Nikii and Brent each bring a combination of project management experience and demonstrated operational leadership that will help drive Colwood’s success in meeting the increasingly complex and sophisticated demands of a growing community,” said Colwood Chief Administrative Officer, Ian Howat.

Please join Colwood Council and staff in welcoming Nikii Hoglund and Brent Molnar to the City of Colwood team.
