The Westshore Triathlon & Duathlon is the first race in the series and on the island; it features a Sprint, Sprint Relay, Super Sprint and Duathlon also new in 2016 was Kids of Steel.
We bring together avid triathletes with those just beginning their journey in a supportive atmosphere that celebrates healthy and active lifestyles, so there is something for everyone.
This race begins with a continues pool swim, athletes exit the pool into transition to their bikes in a spacious, flat, easy to navigate area before starting out on a scenic bike route on Ocean Boulevard heading to the picturesque Esquimalt Lagoon. The Sprint distance is two loop, the Super Sprint and KOS is an out and back. The final leg will feature a run on a the well groomed trails surrounding West Shore Parks and Recreation Centre, finally you enter the finishing chute and cross the finish line to the cheering spectators and family.
