Open burning is not permitted in Colwood at any time.  Colwood Outdoor Burning Restriction and Regulation Bylaw No. 931, 2007

Outdoor wood burning appliances are permitted EXCEPT when the fire rating is HIGH or EXTREME.


Colwood’s Fire Department has been protecting Colwood residents since 1946 – we are the Westshore’s longest serving fire department.

The City of Colwood is well served by 40 dedicated and experienced firefighters who care passionately about their community. All of our 8 career firefighters and 32 volunteer members are dedicated fire suppression and rescue professionals trained and certified under the British Columbia firefighters training program.
