Parks Plans

The Colwood Parks & Recreation Master Plan will guide improvements to our parks over the next 10+ years. Recommendations of the plan will be reviewed and adjusted annually to explore new opportunities and prioritize investments that reflect the needs and desires of the community. 2026 Projects

On April 27, 2026, Colwood Council allocated funding from the Growing Communities Fund for new park features and enhancements, including:

  • Herm Williams Park: Playground replacement, washroom facility, electrical upgrades for new washroom and EV readiness
  • Ocean View Park: Upgrade basketball court to a multi‑sport court, outdoor learning space, and tree inventory
  • Lagoon West Park: new outdoor interpretive shelter
  • Quarry Park: new washrooms and explore options for a water park
  • Colwood Creek Park: Working with Agricultural Land Commission to advance previously planned park improvements
  • Lagoon Beach: Upgrade portable washrooms to new off-grid washroom building, new wildlife viewing platform (plus the new multi‑use pathway funded by the Canada Community-Building Fund with a completion timeline in 2028)
  • Meadow Park: refurbish playground equipment including the zipline and aging wood structures
  • Perimeter Park: Stair connection to future waterfront multi-use pathway
  • Havenwood Park: Trail upgrades (in progress)

Parks Management Plans

Park improvements are guided by individual Parks Management Plans with input from residents, park users and other stakeholders. These plans will guide park specific decision making and amenity upgrades for park trails, connectivity, environmental conservation, and park maintenance.
